Scriptwriting

In this blog post, I will be answering a few questions on scriptwriting.

What does the script look like for your film?

The script that's for my film would be the main protagonist discovering a creepy doll in a trash can and picking it up from the trashcan thinking of it as a joke and bringing it home with him not knowing awaits for him and his friends in the future.

What is your "brand" or "mission statement" for your film? What are you striving towards? What are you trying to achieve with your story?

Usually, horror movie mission statements are based around karma or other reasons my film will be friendship and how to really deal with problems going on around you. Mostly because I wanted a different approach to this film.

What are some films that are similar to yours (genre, budget, audience, etc.)? How are they typically financed? Where does the money come from?

Some films that would be similar to mines are Insidious and The Conjuring. For Insidious it was financed by FilmDistrict and The Conjuring was in many other production companies. Usually, films are typically financed through investors and other sources like grants.

There are many different things going on during live-action films and the script is the most important part cause without a script there's no dialogue or plan on what you are going to do in the film and will end up with everything being disorganized.
